| Vinicio Capossela was born in Hanover, Germany on December 14th, 1965. Open to experimentation and mixing of styles and genres, he is among those reinventing the language of Italian song, utilizing literary citation and allusion in his work (Bukowski, Fante, Céline). His debut recording “All’una e trenta circa” was released in 1990 and won the Club Tenco Award. His other recording are: “Modi” (1991), “Camera a sud” (1994), “Il ballo di San Vito” (1996), “Liveinvolvo” (1997), and “Canzoni a manovella” (2000). His readings of John Fante, his radio adaptation of Dickens’s “A Christmas Tale”, and the radio broadcast of his own “I cerini di San Nicola” are legendary. |
