| 1968
It
was the year of Gabriel García Márquez (in the photo with Inge Feltrinelli),
the year of the triumphal success of his novel Cent'anni di solitudine;
the hand-out announcing the publication of his novel in the series
"Universale Economica" in 1973).
Louis
Althusser, co-author with Etienne Balibar of Leggere il capitale.
Feltrinelli's publications during these years reflected contemporary events
and movements: Citazioni, by President Mao, La ribellione degli
studenti in Germany. Herbert Marcuse's Critica della società
repressiva. Also published was La politica dell'esperienza by R.D.
Laing, an exponent of anti-psychiatry.
The publication of Diario in Bolivia (first
world edition) and the three volumes of Opere commemorate the life and
death of Ernesto Che Guevara, killed in Bolivia in October 1967. In line with
the choice of these "Che" publications, two other titles were
published by Feltrinelli the same year:Rivoluzione nella rivoluzione?
by Régis Debray and Liberazione o morte. Antologia degle scritti
by Father Camilo Torres. The proceeds of the sales of the Diario were
donated in favour of the Latin-American liberation movements.
