1983 The
need to cut production called for a restructuring of the various series.
Salvatore Gregorietti and Bob Noorda were entrusted with the relevant graphic
project. Alongside "Narratori" there was now
"L'Avventura"and "Impronte". "Tempo ritrovato"
was dedicated to biography; "Campi del sapere" to human and social
sciences. Non-fiction now had its place in "Saggi" and
"Idee", while "Presenze" was for topical themes. Here, and
in the next few pages, there are some examples of the new graphic design-a
particular feature of which is the logo (top, left). Stefano Benni published
the first of his narrative successes, Terra! Gianni Vattimo and Pier
Aldo Rovatti edited Il pensiero debole, a title that was to become part
of contemporary lexis.
A
narrative La casa degli spiriti by Isabel Allende (left) repeated her
previous editorial successes. The Latin American writer's future novels were
also to meet great approbation.

A series of titles indicate continuity in the trends of the Publishing House
despite innovations both in the choice of themes and authors. (In the picture,
from left to right): Judith Thurman (Isak Dinesen. La vita di Karen
Blixen), Umberto Galimberti (Il corpo.Antropologia, psicoanalisi,
fenomenologia), Woody Allen (Provaci ancora,Sam), Ryszard
Kapuscinski (Il Negus.Splendori e miserie di un autocrate). Among the
non-fiction authors this year figured: Arnold Gehlen (L'uomo, la sua natura
e il suo posto nel mondo, a classic in the field of philosophic
anthropology) and Bruno Bettelheim (Freud e l'anima dell'uomo). Active
agents on the sales network: Gianni Quaranta, Lorenzo Del Gaudio e Mario
Peddio.
